B.Sc. Nursing

About....

B.Sc. in Nursing is an undergraduate course that all medical aspirants can pursue in different B.Sc. Nursing colleges in India. The course, in India, is offered as a 4-year undergraduate programme for all students who have cleared class 12th from the stream of science. The course can be availed at any recognized institute or University, with the apt recognition from the authorized body.

In India, experts have come together and formed a curriculum that is followed across India in all government and private institutions offering the B.Sc. Nursing course. The course has been designed to train and qualify all aspirants into graduates who will be able to practice the art in different settings.

As per the Indian Nursing Council, the course is offered under the choice-based credit system (CBCS). The programme will be specifically desiagned by the college or university that will offer the programme but all educational institutions will have to abide by the regulations specified by INC. As per the guidelines, the students will pursue foundational, core and elective courses.

The programme has been designed to train the students in generalistic nursing practices. Students will be trained and educated on the processes of wellness, illness & disease management, health promotion along with the taking of the dying as part of becoming a nurse. The programme focuses on mastering the various competencies of the field.

Admission Criteria:-

  • Completed the age of 17 years and not exceeding 28 years on or before 1st January of the year of admission. Female only.

  • Candidates should have passed in class 12th examination with PhysicsChemistryBiology– Zoology/ Botany and English as their main subject with minimum 45% marks for General category and for the candidates belonging to the reserved category need to secure at least 40% marks.

  • Desirable performance in joint entrance (JENPAS) examination conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Board.

  • Selection will be based on JENPAS General Merit list and counseling only (No direct admission).

  • Candidate must produce medical fitness certificate at the time of admission and the Proforma of medical fitness certificate is available at website of WBJEE Board.

  • Domicile Certificate must be submitted during admission & Proforma of domicile certificate available at website of WBJEE Board.
